FIRST LIGHT (SINGLE EDITION)

3ARTH: FIRST LIGHT

First Light was composed on New Year's Day 2018 in one session. I wanted  to capture a sense of hope and optimism, the euphoria of the celebrations with the awe and spectacle of the very first sunrise. I am feeling that there are leanings to here to our ecology, our life in the world of now and a sense of journey and purpose.

3ARTH: IN ORBIT

In Orbit was actually the third track of the year but very much the second of the album. It's the view from above the earth, looking down on what it is becoming.

I wanted to create this flowing, haunting soundscape as though you are the astronaut and a sense of weightlessness that echoes the grandeur and beauty below.

3ARTH: OUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH

3ARTH: SKYLINE

Our Friends in the North - the second track composed (but may well not be the second on this album) was this, ambient tinged track which for me evokes climate change, the hole in our Ozone layer at the top of the world and the subsequent melting of the polar ice caps and the damage being done to it. Whilst I do not consider myself to be any kind of eco-warrior, the continuing harm caused by CFC gases and emissions from the worlds most powerful polluting nations is terrifying and whilst it's consequences are only just being felt today, its continuance will mean irreparable damage for future generations to come.

Skyline - the fourth track and very much track for on the 3ARTH album is a maelstrom of man-made mellifluousness reflecting the ever evolving skyline of our major cities. As we build these monuments into the clouds, we have become closer to resembling the extraordinary structures of ant colonies.

3ARTH: RELATIVITY

Relativity - “When you sit with a nice girl for two hours you think it’s only a minute, but when you sit on a hot stove for a minute you think it’s two hours. That’s relativity.”

Albert Einstein

With this in mind, I composed this fun, joyful track and found this amazing video to accompany it. I am desperate to get in touch with the animator so if you know him, get in touch.
